Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Aureaty Software Inc. ("we", "our" or "us") handles information in the DayEvery app for iPhone (the "App") and on this website. The short version: what you write in DayEvery stays on your iPhone. We don't have accounts, we don't show ads, and we don't track you.

1. Information that stays on your device

Your todos, your story reading progress and your app settings (such as text size) are stored only on your iPhone. Todos and reading progress are encrypted, and the key is kept in your iPhone's Keychain. This data is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is excluded from iCloud and device backups. Deleting the App deletes it.

2. Information we collect

To find and fix bugs, the App sends anonymous crash and diagnostic reports to our error-reporting provider, Sentry (see section 4). These reports may include:

• Crash data: crash logs, app hangs and out-of-memory terminations, with the technical details needed to locate the problem in our code.
• Performance and diagnostic data: device model, iOS version, app version, language and region, available memory and storage, and error codes from inside the App (for example, a failure to save a file or to download audio).
• App context: technical identifiers for the story and part being read when a problem occurred, and a short list of recent app events (for example, "day locked"). These never include the text of your todos or stories.
• Session data: a random identifier created when the App is installed, used only to calculate how often the App runs without crashing. It is not linked to you or to any other app.

Reports are not linked to your identity. We do not collect your name, email address, Apple Account, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier, or the content of your todos and stories. When the App connects to Sentry, Sentry receives your IP address as part of the connection; we have configured Sentry not to store it.

3. Purchases

Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your payment details, and the App does not send any purchase information to us or to Sentry. Apple's handling of your information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Service providers

Crash and diagnostic reports are processed by Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) on our behalf and stored in the United States. Sentry may use this data only to provide its service to us. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Story audio is downloaded from Apple's servers when you first play it, as part of the App's normal operation.

We do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

5. Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you reported, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose.

6. Retention

Crash and diagnostic reports are kept for a limited period, no longer than 90 days, and then deleted automatically. Data stored on your iPhone stays there until you delete it or delete the App.

7. Your choices and rights

Because reports are anonymous and we have no accounts, we usually cannot link any report to you. Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. To ask a question or make a request, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

DayEvery is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data on your iPhone is encrypted, and reports are sent over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we design the App to keep as little data as possible off your device.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. If a change affects what the App collects, we will also update the App Store privacy information.
